Finding us should not be difficult if you research our location beforehand. French postcodes each cover a large area, so it is best to use the latitude and longitude if your sat-nav has that facility:
Lat/Long: 42.918211, 2.062172 (42°55’05.6″N 2°03’43.8″E)
If not, or if you are using a map, you may want the whole street address:
6 rue Principale de Campferrier
11230 Puivert
France
The Gite Rural du Lac Perdu is situated in Campferrier – one of several hamlets (‘Camps’) scattered around the small town of Puivert, in the sunny Occitanie Region (formerly Languedoc-Roussillon and Midi-Pyrénées), in rural south west France – between the market towns of Lavelanet and Quillan. Situated immediately below the D117 road that runs towards Quillan in the east and Lavelanet in the west, Campferrier is about 1.5 km from Puivert itself – easily walkable. The Chateau de Puivert sits on the hill just above us.
To give you a general idea, we are located in the foothills of the Pyrennées, which run from the Mediterranean coast to the Atlantic, dividing France from Spain. The gite is approximately:
- An hour and a half south-east of Toulouse
- An hour south of Carcassonne
- An hour and a half from Perpignan and the Mediterranean Sea
- Under two hours from the Spanish border
- Under two hours from Andorra
- Under an hour from the nearest ski resort
